On Monday, January 27, during a routine status check conducted by the Enforcement Unit in the Carmichael and Cowpen Roads area, three (3) Haitian males and one (1) Haitian female were apprehended for immigration-related offences, including Illegal Landing, Overstaying, and Engaging in Gainful Occupation. They were subsequently detained and transported to the Carmichael Road Detention Centre for further processing and investigation.
On the same day, two (2) Chinese females, suspected of Overstaying, were intercepted upon arrival in New Providence from Bimini via a local airline. A status check confirmed that both individuals had exceeded their allotted visitor’s time in The Bahamas. They were also transported to the Carmichael Road Detention Centre for processing. These individuals are scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court later this week.
