Safe, hazard-free environments at places of business and other public buildings are very important. To ensure this, the Labour Inspection Section of the Department of Labour carries out inspections randomly, and upon request, provides guidance to interested persons about ensuring a safe environment. However, it is also in everyone’s best interest for members of the public to also report concerns regarding potential hazards in business places, as this would guide the activities of the inspectors and thus mitigate potential risks.
Eligibility
Anyone can report potential hazards that may be present in a business place.
Process
- Contact the Labour Inspection Section of the Department of Labour, in person or via the telephone.
- Provide details about the hazard including the nature of the hazard, the location, who would be affected by it, the company name, and the name of the person with whom the section should speak to rectify the hazard.
An Inspector would then investigate the claim and advise of the outcome.
