Financial Assistance for Prosthetics

Disabled persons in need of prosthetic limbs, who are unable to afford such prosthetics, can apply for financial assistance.

Eligibility 

Applicants must:

  • Need a prosthetic limb.
  • Be Bahamian.
  • Be without any financial assistance.

Process 

  1. The applicant visits the Disability Affairs Division Office and requests assistance from the Social Services Representative (SSR).
  2. The applicant is interviewed by the SSR to complete the Intake and Social History Report.
  3. The Intake and Social History Report is reviewed by a committee and a recommendation is made.
  4. The applicant is informed of the recommendation made about whether or not (s)he qualifies for the service.

All relevant application forms will be completed by the Social Services Representative at the time of application (General Intake Form and National Registry Form)
