BIS Commemorates its Golden Jubilee at Living Waters Kingdom Ministries Church Service

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Management and Staff of Bahamas Information Services (BIS), led by Director General Elcott Coleby, attended church services at Living Waters Kingdom Ministries on Warren Street, Oakes Field on Sunday, October 13, 2024. BIS was commemorating its Golden Jubilee anniversary, as the department was established by an act of parliament 50 years ago, in October 1974. Also in attendance at the service were Assistant Director/Editorial, Camilla Cheong, and Human Resources Manager, Kathryn Campbell.

Another milestone was being celebrated on Sunday: Living Waters Kingdom Ministries celebrated its 26th anniversary.

Dignitaries in attendance were: Governor General, Her Excellency the Most Hon. Dame Cynthia Pratt; Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting, the Hon. Myles Laroda (whose portfolio includes BIS); High Commissioner to CARICOM, H.E. Leslia Miller-Brice, her spouse, Leander and their children; and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Wayde Watson.

The service was officiated by Pastor, Apostle Raymond Wells, who delivered an impassioned sermon on the story of Nehemiah in his role of rebuilding Jerusalem. The sermon was titled 'The Grace to Finish.
