NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Young persons of Caribbean-Canada Leaders Dialogue (CCLD) 2025 met with Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Wayde Watson, Tuesday, at the Ministry of Finance as part of their leadership development tour while in The Bahamas.
The youth are members of an initiative dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders through cross-cultural exchange and immersive learning.
In The Bahamas their itinerary, May 25-28, included meetings at Tourism, Economic Affairs, Bahamas Development Bank, Educulture, UB, and a visit to Government House.
Five outstanding Bahamian delegates were participating in this immersive cross-sector experiential leadership development programme. They were: Juliann Grant, an assistant manager at, KPMG Bahamas; Angelo Hart, an operations manager at the Office of the Prime Minister; Corey Hamilton, a distribution buyer at Bahamas Power and Light Company; Candis Marshall, a creative solutions strategist; and Kaché Knowles, the owner of iisaBahamianbey.
International delegates visited The Bahamas to experience the tour, focused on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity, with a sub-theme on the Blue Economy, Financial Services, and Cultural Tourism.
Tour countries include The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, and Jamaica.
The programme, hosted by The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conferences Canada, is held from May 22 to June 1, 2025, under the leadership of HRH Princess Anne, President; Wes Hall, Chair, and Hemi Mitic, Lead Director.
Under the theme of Impact-Driven Leadership: Creating Positive Change in Our Communities, CCLD 2025 focuses on six crucial sub-themes: diversity and inclusion, sustainability and innovation, ethics, impact, collaboration, and advocacy.
The programme provides 100 emerging leaders from Canada and the Caribbean with a unique opportunity to engage with industry experts, explore socio-economic challenges, and develop innovative solutions -- enhancing their capacity for critical thinking, collaboration, and sustainable impact across sectors.
