NASSAU, The Bahamas - The local and international media were introduced to key officials at the start of the Second Annual Bahamas Aviation Week 2024, during a Press Conference held Monday, October 28, 2024 at Baha Mar resort on Cable Beach. This year’s theme is: 'A Celebration of Aviation Partnerships.'

Speakers during the press conference were Dr. Kenneth Romer, Director of Aviation, Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation; Tracy Cooper, CEO Bahamasair; Adrian Neuhauser, President ALTA Executive Committee; and Jose Ricardo Botelho, CEO ALTA.

Dr. Romer noted that tourism is The Bahamas’ main industry – 50 percent of its GDP -- and the conference provides an opportunity for further growth of the tourism product and by extension aviation across the country.

A highlight of the week will be the hosting of over 400 visiting international delegates during The Latin American & Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) 20th Anniversary Forum 2024, October 28-30 at Baha Mar.

According to organizers, ALTA is recognized as one of the most important aviation leaders' and decision makers'conferences in Latin America & the Caribbean.

The week will see the recognition of the contributions of the many team members, directly employed throughout the Bahamian aviation industry.
