National Arts Festival Acklins Adjudications at A. Loftus Roker High School

Students at A. Loftus Roker High School danced, sang, recited poetry and performed Junkanoo, when the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Acklins Adjudications visited their school in Pompey Bay, on April 8, 2025.

POMPEY BAY, Acklins -- Students at A. Loftus Roker High School danced, sang, recited poetry and performed Junkanoo, when the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Acklins Adjudications visited their school in Pompey Bay, on April 8, 2025.  Also joining them in the community category was retired veteran Bahamian journalist Gladstone Thurston, who strummed original songs on his guitar.  In the past, he took part in the Festival on Eleuthera and Long Island, and on Acklins the previous year.
