NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Under the theme, 'Tokens of a Life Well-Lived,' family, friends, church congregants and dignitaries gathered in the Sharon R. Wilson Center at Mount Tabor Baptist Church for the Official Opening and Blessing of the Neil C. Ellis Library and Museum, September 18, 2024.
Giving remarks were Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Hon. Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper, Minister of Education and Technical & Vocational Training the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin, and (Actg.) President of the University of The Bahamas Janyne Hodder.
In his speech as guest speaker, Prime Minister Davis gave a testament of Bishop Neil Ellis as a true friend, dedicated family man, and clergyman, and said he was honoured to stand beside Bishop Ellis at the opening of his Library and Museum.
In his special remarks, Bishop Ellis thanked all who shared in his pastoral years, and said he was grateful for the blessings of his ministry, and honoured to share in them.
President of the Bahamas Christian Council, Bishop Delton Fernander conducted the Blessing Ceremonies.
Lady Patrice Ellis and Ranechea Ellis did the ceremonial Cutting of the Ribbon.
Presiding were Bishop Delton D. Ellis and Dr. Kenneth Romer.
A Guided Tour and Reception concluded the occasion.
