The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) seeks to invite Bahamians everywhere to participate in a critical initiative—Suicide Prevention "Orange Alert" Day, taking place on September 10, 2024. This day has been designated by the PHA and Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre to raise awareness about the importance of being alert to the signs and symptoms of suicide and offering hope and support to those in need.
What is Orange Alert Day?
Orange Alert Day is a day to be alert and sensitive to changes in the moods and behaviors of individuals around us. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the signs of mental health struggles and suicide risk. By spreading awareness, we can help prevent suicide and offer support to those who may be struggling in silence.
