NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Kenya P. Laing, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of the Public Service, announced that she will serve as overall chair for the Ministry of the Public Service’s National Public Service Week and Mr. Lavell Watson will serve as deputy chair.  Mrs. Laing (pictured at lectern) made the announcement at a meeting, September 12, 2024 at the ministry.

 The week, Mrs. Laing said, is scheduled to be observed October 25 to November 3 in New Providence and November 4 - 10 in the Family Islands.

The meeting was attended by government ministry and department representatives, and National Public Service Week planning committee members.

She announced that Public Service Week highlighted activities comprise: church service, health screening, recognition of the public service officer of the year, a fun run & walk, recognition of retirees, and a careers day fair.
