NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Minister of Housing and Urban Renewable, the Hon. Keith Bell, Minister of State the Hon. Lisa Rahming, and the Urban Renewal Carmichael Team, in partnership with Bahamas Technical & Vocational Institute, Galilee College and Cyber Tech Career College launched a Community Empowerment Program under the theme: “Education Elevates, Knowledge Celebrates & Future Awaits.” The event took place at United Christian Cathedral, Flamingo Gardens on Thursday, 19th September, 2024.
The community upliftment program: 'Pathways to Prosperity' will empower young individuals between the ages of 17 and 35 with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to navigate life confidently and secure meaningful employment. In partnership with Cyber Tech Career College, Galilee College, and the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute, the program will provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, with scholarships awarded to top performers.
It is the goal of Carmichael Urban Renewal that the young people take advantage of this opportunity afforded to them, in the spirit of the old saying, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." It will contribute to their becoming successful, employed, independent, and crime free law-abiding citizens, making a difference in the community.
Carmichael Urban Renewal has launched this initiative to affirm its young people, giving them tools for self-determination and future prosperity.
