NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture's Division of Youth held a Youth Leaders Certification programme graduation for its Spring Cohort 2025, May 27, at the Courtyard Marriott.

Held under the theme "Empowering tomorrow, Navigating change, Shaping futures" the graduates were addressed by the Hon. Mario Bowleg, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture (MOYSC), and Commissioner of Police Shanta E. Knowles, Royal Bahamas Police Force, the keynote speaker.

The 16-week programme conveyed skills and knowledge to the graduates -- who are from throughout The Bahamas and holding various jobs -- to equip them to positively impact young people,

Minister Bowleg told the graduates "leadership is not a position but a purpose," and Commissioner Knowles said the graduation is a bold step forward in investing in the youth.

Commissioner Knowles and Minister Bowleg both commended and congratulated the graduates telling them to never forget the skills learnt nor the friendships made along the way.

The Minister and Miss Knowles also assisted with the presentation of awards and certificates.   (BIS Photos/Mark Ford)
