Ministry Of Works And Utilities

MINISTRY OF WORKS & UTILITIES

NOTICE
TROPICAL STORM NICOLE (2022)
WEST BAY STREET OPENING
THURSDAY, 10TH NOVEMBER, 2022

Please be advised that West Bay Street between Ferguson Road and Gambier has been opened to the motoring public. The Ministry asks motorists to drive with caution on West Bay Street, Arawak Cay and Western Esplanade as minor debris clearing works continue. Please note that the Ministry may implement temporary traffic diversions to facilitate prompt road clearing works.

We will continue to be advised by the Bahamas Department of Meteorology and monitor the weather conditions and swells on the northern New Providence shoreline throughout the week. Our damage assessment team and debris removal crews remain on standby for any other weather event that may occur.

The Ministry of Works & Utilities asks the public for assistance by sending any details, photos, videos and location tags of blocked roads inclusive of flooding, fallen trees and debris within the roadway to our WhatsApp hotline numbers (376-0936 and 557-3227) so that we may address these as soon as possible.

Work crews from the Ministry of Works and Utilities worked late into Wednesday night/Thursday morning to ensure that Closed Roads in western New Providence could re-open to the motoring public.
