Opening of Shops - Majority Rule Day

The Cabinet Office wishes to advise the general public that Monday, 10th January, 2022 will be observed as Majority Rule Day. As a result, stores, wishing to do so, may open for business on this holiday during normal business hours. Further, employers are to note that employees, who are normally not required to work on holidays and do so, must be paid wages in accordance with section 10 (a) of the Employment Act.
