Residents of Grand Bahama & Abaco advised to avoid drinking ground water

Residents of Grand Bahama, Abaco and the surrounding Cays are advised to avoid drinking or consuming ground water. Following the passage of Hurricane Dorian, officials are warning that ground water on these islands has the potential to be contaminated with infectious bacteria, chemicals and other pollutants which can cause illness.

Residents are advised to use only clean bottled water for drinking, food preparation and personal hygiene.
