After successful completion of a theory and practical Driver’s Licence Test, an initial Bahamian Driver’s Licence is issued. This licence allows the applicant to drive legally on the streets of The Bahamas.

There is an option of having your Bahamian Driver’s Licence valid for one year or three years. However, persons obtaining a Bahamian Driver’s Licence for the first time can only have their licence for a period of one year.
