This license is required by all persons who wish to engage in the business of providing inquiry agents or security guards.
Eligibility
The applicant must be Bahamian which meaning applicant must be:
- A citizen of the Bahamas 
- A company registered under the Companies Act in which all shares are beneficially owned by “Bahamians”.

- Complete relevant application form.
- Attach supporting documents and submit to Ministry of National Security.
- Make payment

Inquiry Agent/Security Guard Business License:
Form 1 – IASG Regulations – Application to Engage in the Business of Providing Inquiry Agents and/or Security Guards
Individual Inquiry Agent/Security Guard License:
Form 2 – IASG Regulations – Application to Act as an Inquiry Agent and/or Security Guard
Supporting Documents
Inquiry Agent/Security Guard Business License:
- Four (4) passport sized photographs (owner)
- Design (image) of badge (in case of security guard company only)- The minimum size shall be 2”x2”
- It shall be of distinctive color
- It shall bear a legend indicating that its wearer is a security guard.
 
- Design and color (image) of uniform (in case of security guard company only)
- Bahamian Birth Certificate OR proof of Citizenship OR Passport
- Current Original Police Record (not more than six months old)
- Copy of Certificate from Registrar of Companies
Individual Inquiry Agent/Security Guard License:
- Four (4) passport sized photographs (owner)
- Bahamian Birth Certificate OR Proof of Citizenship OR Passport
- Current Original Police Record (not more than six months old)
Turn-around time
Approximately four (4) to six (6) weeks

There are no deadlines associated with this service.

Temporary Licenses are provided to initial applicants. Annual licenses are only provided once vetting investigation is complete.
- Temporary Business License – 3mths - $150
- Annual Business License – 12 mths - $500
- Temporary Agent/Guard License – 3 mths - $10
- Annual Agent/Guard License – 12 mths - $10
*All cheques are to be submitted to the Ministry of National Security. They are to be certified and made payable to the Public Treasury.
