The CITES Permit allows persons to import or export orchids.

Eligibility

There are no eligibility criteria for this service.

Process

1. Applicant completes and submits the Application for a Permit to Import Orchids.
2. Applicant pays the relevant fee.
3. Applicant submits phyto-sanitary and CITES import/export certificate to an Agricultural Officer or Customs Officer at the port of entry or departure

Note:

• For exports: Shipment must be accompanied by a CITES export permit and a Phyto-sanitary certificate from The Bahamas.
• For imports: Shipment must be accompanied by CITES export permit and Phyto-sanitary Certificate from country of export and a CITES Permit from The Bahamas.
   

Note: Family Island residents should apply to the resident Extension Officers (where applicable) or the Family Island Administrator for this service.
