Private Vessel Registration under the Water Skiing and Motor Boat Control Act 1970 (New & Renewal)

To enable customers to apply and pay online to register a private vessel in the Bahamas.

Eligibility

Individuals that own a vessel in The Bahamas for private use, and individuals seeking to own a vessel in The Bahamas for private use.

Process

  1. Click the Private Vessel Application form link found in the Application Form(s) section of this page.
  2. Complete and submit the application form with the supporting documents listed in the Supporting Documents section.
  3. Follow email instructions on how to pay online using DigiPay platform.
  4. Contact Port Office at 322-8832 or portcustomerservice@bahamas.gov.bs for all inquiries

New:

  1. Owner’s Valid Identification
  2. Proof of Vessel Ownership

Renewal:

  1. Owner’s Valid Identification
  2. Copy of previous Certificate of Registration

Transfer:

  1. Transferee’s Valid Identification
  2. Proof of Vessel Ownership
  3. Copy of previous Certificate of Registration

Turn-around time

  • For new applications: Up to 2 weeks 
  • For renewal applications: 3-7 business days

Deadline

Registration expires annually on March 31.
