Biography

Ms. Cordell Frazier is the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in The Bahamas, having been officially appointed on November 28, 2024, in a ceremony at Government House.

Ms. Frazier's academic journey began with an Associate of Arts degree in Law and Criminal Justice from the College of The Bahamas in 2000. She then earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with honors from The University of the West Indies in 2003. In 2006, she obtained her Legal Education Certificate from the Eugene Dupuch Law School and was called to The Bahamas Bar that same year.

She has practiced both at the private and public bar and is well experienced in both civil and criminal law. Ms. Frazier was a Associated Tutor at the Eugene Dupuch Law School 2022 - 2023 in the Law of Evidence year I and Trial Advocacy II. She is currently the Associate Tutor for the year 2024-2025 in the Law of Evidence Year I. 

Prior to her official appointment as DPP, Ms. Frazier served as the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, succeeding the previous DPP in May 2023.

Her appointment as DPP marks a significant milestone, celebrated by institutions such as the Eugene Dupuch Law School, which extended heartfelt congratulations on her historic achievement.

Throughout her career, Ms. Frazier has been actively involved in legal proceedings, including applications for bail revocation, underscoring her commitment to upholding the rule of law in The Bahamas.
