Biography

Emrick Kevin Seymour enlisted into the Royal Bahamas Police Force as a Police Recruit in 1980. Upon graduating from the Police Training College his career as a Police Officer commenced with him working in various areas of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, throughout the Bahamas, particularly Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas, where he spent the greater part of his career. His hard work, commitment, dedication and unrelenting resolve as a Police Officer, resulted in him moving steadily through the ranks of the organization.

He has served as Commanding Officer of a number of Divisions and Departments within the Royal Bahamas Police Force namely: Central Division-New Providence District; Inspections & Review Branch-New Providence District; Actg OIC Grand Bahama District; Deputy Commander- Grand Bahama District; Eastern Division-New Providence District; Eastern Division-Grand Bahama District; Central Division- Grand Bahama District; Western Division-Grand Bahama District; Mobile, Control Room & Communications- Grand Bahama District; Research & Planning, Complaints & Discipline - Grand Bahama District; Administration & Support Services- Grand Bahama & Northern Bahamas. He also served as the project manager during the construction of the Gerald Bartlett Police Complex in Freeport Grand Bahama. 

Mr. Seymour obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from the College of the Bahamas and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Certified International Risk Management Designation. He has attended and participated in a number of professional development courses, among which included, Senior Police Administration (RCMP)- Ottawa, Canada, where he was the valedictorian; Systems Approach to Training & Development (RCMP); Instructional Technique(RCMP) Developing Executive Leadership- Ocho Rios, Jamaica; International Leadership- Sydney, Australia. 

Mr. Seymour is the recipient of the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s Medal for Meritorious Service and Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct. He is a current Board of Director of the Bahamas Law Enforcement Co-operative Credit Union (Formerly Police Credit Union), and past chairman, where he served for nine (9) years. He also serves on the Board of Governors for the St Paul’s Methodist College-Freeport, Grand Bahama. 

Mr. Seymour worships at the Rhodes Memorial Methodist Church, Nassau and St Paul’s Methodist Church, when in Freeport, Grand Bahama. He is married to Deann Seymour nee Capron, a Certified Public Accountant and Group Financial Controller for the Grand Bahama Port Authority Group of Companies and is the father of three children. 

Mr. Seymour’s hobbies include golfing, fishing, travelling and meeting people.
