FREEPORT, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas – Dedicated and hardworking public servants who have all been recognized for their work by their ministries and departments were recognized during a courtesy call at the Ministry for Grand Bahama on Monday, November 11.
Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey congratulated the group on ensuring the public receives the best service.
The employees, she said, were being recognized for their commitment and dedication and their chosen path is not to be taken lightly. As the work of public servants affects the lives of people in all communities, regardless of the service being provided, their work is “vital.”
“They (the services) are the foundation upon which our communities rely, and results of your work speak volumes about your commitment, your hard work, resilience and devotion to have not only driven success in your respective ministries and departments but have also set a standard that inspires others.
“You have proven that the true value of public service lies not just in policies and procedures, but in the hands, hearts and minds of those who carry them out with passion and purpose.”
Minister Moxey commended the Minister responsible, the Hon. Pia Glover-Rolle, for the work she is doing in the public service by placing employees where their skills are needed.
“As public servants, your impact continues to be felt across our island, contributing to a stronger, more vibrant Grand Bahama and beyond. Let us not overlook the sacrifices that come with this commitment. Many of you have spent countless hours beyond the regular call of duty to ensure that projects are completed, that services reach the people who need them, and that challenges are met with solutions.
“In doing so, you have embodied the values of resilience, adaptability and teamwork. You have shown that when faced with adversity the spirit of the public service is strong, resilient and unyielding.”
She explained that she firmly believes this as in Collab, in order to get things done, people have to work together as a whole.
In closing, she said, “May you continue to light the way, setting the standard for all who serve and may your legacy inspire future generations of public servants.”
