Department of Aviation Stages Training for Cohort 3 of Aviation Service Ambassadors

The Bahamas Department of Aviation provided an industry-wide training exercise for its third cohort of Aviation Service Ambassadors in a one-day workshop, April 1, 2025: the exercise fostered service excellence, and was held at Baha Mar .

NASSAU, The Bahamas - The Bahamas Department of Aviation provided an industry-wide training exercise for its third cohort of Aviation Service Ambassadors in a one-day workshop, April 1, 2025: the exercise fostered service excellence, and was held at Baha Mar Convention Centre, Cable Beach.


“Our aviation industry’s commitment to learn, and translate that learning into measurable action, is what ultimately gives us the competitive advantage,” said Director of Aviation and Deputy Director General of Tourism, Dr. Kenneth Romer.


Aimed at staying on the competitive edge, the transformative training is aligned with the historic Bahamas National Aviation Strategic Plan, and focuses on strengthening strategic partnerships and developing human capital through certifying over 300 Frontline Professionals In-Person, and 1000 virtually in 2025.  


During the service-centric training, “passengers” were taken on an immersive training journey that covered all aspects of Service Excellence Execution, Understanding the Aviation & Tourism Landscape and its Evolution, Customer Psychology, Polished Professional, Service Gaps & Recovery and appreciating Bahamian Culture and Folklore, among others.


In this cluster, there were over 120 participants from several agencies, including; Air Accident Investigation Authority, Airport Authority, Bahamas air, Bahamas Air Navigation Services Authority, Bimini Airport Development, Civil Aviation Authority, Freeport Airport Development, Island Airports, Nassau Airport Development/LPIA, Nassau Flight Services, Ministry of Tourism Guest Services and Visitor Relations, Odyssey Aviation, Jet Nassau, Bahamas Aviation Cadets students (C.V. Bethel Senior High School), Royal Bahamas Police Force, Royal Bahamas Defense Force, Bahamas Customs and Bahamas Immigration.


The training included State of the Industry Panel Discussion; Team Building Exercise by Dr. Romer; and cultural presentation conducted by Arlene Nash-Ferguson.
