NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) hosted a Cross-Government Communications Symposium, themed, 'Changing the Way Government Communicates: Future Ready Communications,' on Monday, March 31, 2025 at SLS Baha Mar.  The event was attended by media representatives of various government units.  Minister of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting the Hon. Myles LaRoda delivered opening remarks on effective communication for government, in today's world.  OPM Director of Communications Latrae Rahming demonstrated the usefulness of AI and the need to develop protocols on when and when not to use it.  Burson Cohn & Wolfe representatives John McTernan (senior advisor) and Harry Bradford highlighted communication techniques, with some emphasis on crisis management.  Among other presenters were D'Asante Small (PHA), Valdez Russell (VKR Insights), Ian Poitier (OPM), Joey Gaskins (Disney Cruise Line).  Presenters were also beamed in, virtually, to discuss in detail AI, and meeting the important communication objectives.  Present was Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Social Services, Information and Broadcasting Phedra Rahming-Turnquest, and other permanent secretaries and officials.
