NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Eighth grader. and co-ordinator of the POSH --Passionate, Optimistic, Strong and Healthy -- girls initiative, Nylah Symonette (with assistance from her mother Nikeva Symonette) held the third annual POSH Girls Symposium at the Geoffrey Brown Auditorium, Queen's College Saturday, February 8. Attendees were addressed by POSH girls patron and keynote speaker Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, wife of the Prime Minister. Mrs. Davis spoke on "Knowing Your Worth." Over 100 girls of junior high and senior high school age registered for the symposium, held under the theme 'Strength thru Awareness.' Nylah Symonette said the objective of the symposium was to ensure attendees left feeling more enriched and confident, and also make them more passionate, optimistic, strong and healthy (POSH). Individuals and groups from schools including L. W. Young, Girl Guides, Princess Court Ministries, and Miss Teen Bahamas pageant winners were in attendance and supporting the symposium.
