PHA Blood Bank Open to the Public

The Princess Margaret Hospital Blood Bank is open to the public today, Wednesday, 28th June, 2023 following a brief temporary closure on Monday. The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) and hospital management extend apologies for any inconvenience caused by the interruption in services.

The blood bank reports an adequate supply of blood for the hospital; however, the appeal for voluntary donors continues as donations are required to maintain thesupply.

Persons eligible to donate blood must be healthy, 17 years and above or 16 years with parental consent and weighing at least 110lbs. Donors should be free ofcold, flu or allergy symptoms and clear of any blood borne infections such as Hepatitis or HIV.
